Volts x Amps x 2 = Watts. Example: 1204 = 12 x 4 x 2 = 98 Watts - recommended inverter is 120 Watts.
How do I calculate Battery Charger boost and float according to battery specification?
Find out the nominal voltage of battery. Example: 12 Volts or 24 Volts.
Divide 2 cells for each volts. Example: 12/2 = 6 or 24/2=12
Then determine the boost and float voltage of the battery. Example: For Gel Battery - boost is 2.4 per cell and float is 2.3 per cell.
Then multiply cells to battery boost. Example: 12 x 2.4 = 28.8 Boost Volts for charger, and 12 x 2.3 = 27.6 Float Volts for charger.
What is a 3-Step Charger?
3-Step charger is a 3-stage charging. The first stage is high speed bulk charge. Initial charge current held at maximum output until voltage reaches set point above end-charge value. Battery attains 80% of full charge at rapid phase. The second stage is relaxed charge to 100% capacity. Charge current is slowly ramped down to end charge level. The third stage is maintenance charge. Voltage drops sharply to end-charge value, controlled trickle current compensates for shelf discharge of battery.
Most of EPS chargers are 3-stage except for the Marine chargers such EC315 and C330.
I have a dual output EPS 1245, how does it work with the charging of the two batteries?
The EPS 1245 battery charger charge the two batteries at 12V and share 45 amps current. This means that if the battery A is flat and battery B is half full then it will charge the flat battery A first. As soon as the two batteries are in the same level of charge, then it will charge the two batteries simultaneously. I need to purchase a battery charger for gel-batteries, what boost voltage is recommended to suit a 12V gel batteries?

I have an EPS 1225 and I want to adjust the charging voltage from 13.8V to 14.4V, how can I do it?
Our EPS switch-mode 1225 is a user friendly charger and you will find a switch setting on the front of the panel.
Here are the settings: Switch 1 must be ON and Switch 2 must be OFF. The position of switch will give you 14.4 Volts which is suitable for gel batteries.
I need to send one of my customer’s EPS charger for repair, how do you determine if it is under warranty?
All EPS charger has two years component failure warranty. You’ll need to give us a copy of your invoice or receipt from EPS. In the absence of documents, you can check the serial number of the battery charger which is located at the back panel. The first two digits are the year and the second two digits are the weeks of manufacture.
